Thyme is one of the best-known Mediterranean herbs. Its aroma and essential oils make it a valuable medicinal plant as well as a very versatile flavouring herb. While its native area extended from the western Mediterranean to southern Italy, today thyme has found its place in almost every domestic garden across Europe and beyond.
