Sunshine at first, with showers in the evening
In the afternoon, maximum temperatures will range from 12° to 18°.
The morning will be mainly sunny. Cloud cover will increase as the day goes on, and widespread showers are expected in the evening. The snow line will drop below 1000 m in places overnight, accompanied by a fresh, gusty north wind.
The high-pressure system will weaken, and this evening a cold front will move across the Alps from the north-west.
Windy and chilly
On Thursday, there will be plenty of clouds, accompanied by a strong, cold north wind. Initially, it will snow in the northern and eastern parts of the region; as the day progresses, the snow showers will retreat to the main Alpine ridge.
The strong north wind will persist on Friday as well. Still a few snow showers along the border with North Tyrol, whilst further south the sun will make occasional appearances.
Saturday will bring largely sunny conditions. The gusty northerly foehn wind will ease somewhat.
On Sunday, cloud cover will increase again over the main Alpine ridge, whilst further south there will be a mix of sun and clouds. The Föhn conditions will persist.
